Anver Anderson, Director of Sales at Goonhilly Earth Station, has enjoyed a career in radio and satellite telecommunications spanning some 40 years. Specialising in strategic and tactical marketing business development, planning and implementation. Anver Anderson has worked with many of the world's leading broadcasters, teleport operators, satellite operators and satellite service providers as well as equipment manufacturers. For the last 16 years, Anver Anderson has provided interim management services to the industry, managing multi-national, multi-skilled and geographically spread workforces providing that all-important link between technical and commercial aspects, as well as the balance between strategic direction and tactical implementation. Anver Anderson is a board member of the BSN (Broadcasting & Satellite Network), the UK’s premier networking industry group.
An award-winning chartered engineer and certified project manager, Betty works with the industry, regulators and UN Agencies in due diligence, system assessment, business development, market access, regulatory and licensing. Her experience includes the management of complex international projects in the satellite, telecom, nuclear, defence, aerospace, and transport of dangerous goods sectors.
Betty holds two Master’s degrees in Aeronautical and Space Engineering, a Diploma in International Nuclear Law and a Master of Business Administration. She is the chair of the UK Chapter of the Society of Satellite Professionals International (SSPI), a trustee and VP for Industry of the Women’s Engineering Society in the UK, and a board member of the International Women in Engineering and Science (INWES) Europe.
Mr. Palerm joined NSR as an analyst in 2015. His primary areas of focus are Satellite Broadband and Ground Segment covering key growth areas such as new markets unlocked by HTS, opportunities opened by innovations in ground segment, how SatCom integrates in the telecom ecosystem, Enterprise VSAT, Consumer Broadband or Cellular Backhaul. He is the lead author for NSR’s VSAT and Broadband Satellite Markets (VBSM) report, industry’s unique Commercial Satellite Ground Segment (CSGS) report, and Wireless Backhaul via Satellite (WBS) report. Mr. Palerm regularly participates in consulting projects related to demand forecast for new satellite systems, new markets entry strategy or ground segment equipment and services demand for emerging opportunities among others.
Prior to joining NSR, Mr. Palerm worked at Zero2Infinity in technical and business roles. While involved in the startup, he worked in the mission analysis for the company’s microsat launcher project and leaded the development of a rocket engine prototype successfully tested. He also contributed to the project’s business plan with market research and financial assessment. Lluc undertook fund raising efforts and built the relation with customers.
Graduated as an Aerospace Engineer from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (2011), he collaborated with one of its research centers developing CFD codes (CTTC). Afterwards, he received a Master in Management from ESADE Business School (2012) specializing in Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

Martin Jarrold has worked for GVF for over 18 years, having been appointed as Chief of International Programme Development in June 2001.
His particular responsibilities include outreach to the member organizations of the GVF and for the further development of the profile of the Forum within the satellite communications industry, and across the global telecommunications policy and regulatory community. This extends to the development and delivery of programmes focused on extending the understanding of, and promoting the use of, satellite-based communications in various key end-user vertical markets.

Marco Mirante joined Hughes Network Systems in 1997 having worked in the telecommunications industry since 1984 in a number of Italian and international companies. His first job was at Contraves Italiana as Technical Trainer and later at Italtel SpA as a Key Account Manager and Contract Manager. He has been Regional Sales Director in Hughes for the past 11 years with his main responsibility on European countries.
During this time, Hughes has launched the Jupiter platform - the next generation high-throughput system for VSAT - which is an enhancement of its proprietary existing system and HM system, which is an efficient and agile SATCOM for fixed, mobile and portable applications.
In his time at Hughes he has helped to enlarge and develop new opportunities into the satellite field as well as on managed network services portfolio.

Semir is leading the mobile backhaul market at Newtec. A seasoned telecommunications executive, Semir is an expert at bridging technology and business specifically in the Mobile and Internet spaces. Previously with Memotec Semir was vice-president of Marketing & Strategy, and Product Marketing director at Comtech. Prior to this tenure, Semir has launched startups and held several international assignments with Oz Communications (acquired by Nokia), Airwide solutions/Schlumberger & Sema Group in the areas of product management, solutions architecture and product development.
Semir holds a M.S in Electronics and Automatics from the University of Sciences of Montpellier, France and a M.S in Business Administration from the Institut Francais de Gestion, France.

Philippe joined Eutelsat in 2012. He drove B2B sales in Europe & Africa for HTS broadband services. Since 2018, he is part of the Data Business Unit and responsible for developing global telco projects.
Before joining Eutelsat group, Philippe was a team member of Cambridge Broadband Networks Limited, UK, a point to multipoint microwave OEM, looking at Strategic & Indirect Channels.
He also worked 7 years in Orange - mobile - where he was chief marketing and sales in Madagascar and in El Salvador.

Vice President Sales Global Service Providers
Simon is currently Vice President Sales, Global Service Providers at SES Networks, a provider of global managed data services. He has held a number of senior positions in the satellite business for the past 20 years. This includes over 15 years at SES, which most recently included Vice President of Sales EMEA prior to his current role. In his current role, Simon’s team is responsible for the management of many SES key accounts, which include many of the worlds largest cross segment global service providers. Prior to joining SES, Simon held several senior sales positions, including four years at Globecast, an Orange company, where he was responsible for broadcast product and business development across Northern Europe and Scandinavia, which included launching a number of satellite multiplexes on the UK Sky platform.

Savyon Wasser is Director of Telco and Enterprise Market Solutions at VT iDirect. With 20 years of experience in the satellite industry in multiple markets and applications, Wasser is responsible for VT iDirect’s overall strategic vision and solution offering for fixed markets including enterprise and cellular backhaul. In this role he defines the company’s product strategy for these segments, and acts as the spokesperson and subject matter expert to clearly articulate the business value of iDirect products and solutions to its customers and the market.
Wasser was previously Director of Business Development, driving various cellular backhaul initiatives among others. Prior to that role, Wasser held a senior sales engineering position, supporting and guiding many of VT iDirect’s top partners in crafting and delivering VSAT solution in various global markets.
Before joining VT iDirect Wasser worked in engineering support roles at SpaceNet and Viasat.

Prior to joining Gilat, Mr. Maor had served as Vice President of Business Development & Professional Services within an Israeli Hi-Tech Telecom equipment company engaged with Next-Generation core Ethernet switches, working vis-à-vis large Tier-1 customers such as KDDI in Japan, Verizon in the USA, Deutsche Telecom, and more.

Ali currently heads business development and product marketing for Astranis: a service-oriented manufacturer of small GEO high throughput satellites, nicknamed microGEOs. As a 3 year old company, Astranis has already landed its first customer, Pacific Dataport for a microGEO that will be providing high throughput capacity over Alaska. Other than leading all business development and sales efforts, Ali is also responsible for Astranis's go-to-market strategy. Ali has been in the satellite industry for over a decade with various positions ranging from engineering to corporate development and finance. Ali started his career at SES where after two years of working on video broadcast related products, he transitioned to business development and product marketing at O3b Networks focusing for two years on data and high throughput networks. He then worked in consulting and contributed at NSR to multiple reports on video broadcasting and cell backhaul as well as projects with LEO operators. After that Ali combined these experiences and worked in strategy and planning at Intelsat for three year where he contributed to launching satellite programs prior to joining Astranis. Ali has a thorough understanding of the end-to-end value chain in the satellite industry including its verticals with focus on cell backhaul and trunking.

Previously Mr. Cohen headed Product Management, Marketing, Operation and strategic verticals development and managed the product strategy development of innovative vertical oriented products offering for defense and HLS markets, among them the lunch of the first satellite backhaul solution for MNO networks, Satcom On the Move for defense and HLS arena, managed services operations for commercial and military end users.

Mr. Lambert joined Kratos in 2017, coming from a background of satellite communication products, embedded systems engineering and technology consultancy. Prior to joining Kratos he ran the European arm of Advantech Wireless and oversaw the development of their satellite modem and antenna control products. Mark holds an MBA and an M.Eng in Computer Engineering.

Having more than 20 years of experience in finance and strategic consulting with companies such as HSBC, Citigroup and Accenture, Mr. Sibay brings a great deal of financial and business experience to ALCAN. Jaime loves working with clients to invent the Space services of the future and 5G is one of the most exciting developments in the industry as satellite and terrestrial technologies converge. He leads SatCom and Earth Observation services and applications development in the UK for CGI, one of the world’s largest and most dynamic IT and business consulting companies. A key focus at the moment is developing the service layer required to help clients integrate and orchestrate the networks of the future. He has spent 20 years in the space industry as a systems engineer and project manager working on some of the most complex ground, satellite and software systems. Jaime has a Doctorate in Atmospheric, Oceanic and Planetary Physics and is a Chartered Engineer.
Business Development Engineer
Javier Santos is an International Business Developer for the Spanish company INSTER, focused in the Defense and Telecommunications markets, and specifically in all its activities related to Satellite Communications.
Javier received a M.Sc in Aerospace Engineering at the Technical University of Madrid, complemented by a year of studies at the Institut National Polytechnique of Grenoble (France), specializing in aerospace and satellite systems.
After graduating, Javier joined the satellite company Deimos Imaging (an UrtheCast company), as a flight segment and satellite operations engineer for the Earth observation satellites Deimos-1 and Deimos-2.
In this position he was in charge of running operations, supervising the satellite systems’ health, and conducting collision avoidance activities related to the satellite mission.
Director Product Management
Gerry Collins is Director of Product Management at Intelsat with specific focus on the Mobile Network Operator (MNO) segment. In this role Gerry drives Intelsat’s strategy to enhance the value that the Intelsat satellite fleet can bring to MNOs and promote greater integration between satellite and cellular services. In particular Gerry has a focus on bringing connectivity to those outside the current MNO coverage areas.
Gerry’s career so far has spanned both the satellite and cellular industries and he was most recently Director of Business Development at iDirect and Head of Remote Solutions at Altobridge (the former acquired the latter in 2014). Prior to this Gerry held senior positions in Nortel’s cellular infrastructure business in Europe over a period of 12 years and worked in the Engineering divisions of cellular operators in France, the UK and Hong Kong.
